Man Shoots Police Officer Who Refused To Leave Property Without Warrant

Freemansburg police officer Robert Lasso was shot and killed on the job today in the borough, Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli announced tonight.

"Officer Lasso was a dedicated police officer and a family man, married and the father of two small children," Morganelli said during a news conference.

Lasso, 31, was responding to a disturbance call in the 400 block of New Street in Freemansburg at about 5 this evening, Pennsylvania State Police said. He was confronted and shot upon arrival at the address, police said.
